RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE Hosted by Canterbury Historical Society

07/10/2017 - 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Community Room of the Canterbury, CT Town Hall
1 Municipal Drive - Canterbury, CT 06331

We hope you will consider supporting our annual American Red Cross blood drive this year on Monday, July 10.

The blood used in an emergency must already on the shelves before the event occurs. Donate blood and save life—or more than one. There are four types of transfusable products that can be derived from blood: red cells, platelets, plasma and cryoprecipitate. Typically, two or three of these are produced from a single pint of donated whole blood.

Blood donors can make appointments by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Walk-ins are always welcome but will be worked in around scheduled appointments.

Blood donations are collected from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM, and on-site volunteers work in one- or two-hour shifts from about 11:45 to 5:30 PM.

Even if you can’t donate blood yourself, you can still help out by spreading the word to your family and friends, donating your time or some fresh fruit, home-baked goods, or money to purchase snacks. Some of our repeat blood donors say they make a special point of coming to the drives we host just because of the fabulous noshes!

To volunteer your time, or to support the blood drive with donations of snacks or money for their purchase, please send an email to info@canterburyhistorical.org, or call 860-546-9266.

For Red Cross info about donating blood, see http://www.redcrossblood.org/donating-blood.

Thanks in advance.
