Many thanks to the dedicated volunteers and donors who made the Canterbury Historical Society's Red Cross blood drive a big success on June 29. Lynne and Les Pitman chaired the drive on the society's behalf.
Set by the Red Cross, our goal was 45 pints, and 47 were collected—more than double the number collected when the society hosted its first annual blood drive in 2004. In all, a total of 55 blood donors walked through the doors this year, of whom eight did not qualify to donate that day.
We are famous for the wonderful snacks we serve, made possible by the many good Canterbury folks who provide food and drinks or money for their purchase. Special thanks to Better Valu Supermarkets for the generous donation of subs. |
