We Need Your Gorgeous Color Photos of Canterbury
  April 27th, 2009

An important recurring fundraiser for the society is our yearly calendar.

Canterbury barn in snowWe've all really enjoyed the past calendars featuring old photos from the society's collection. However, it's become increasingly difficult to find great historical shots unused in previous years. For that reason, we've proposed a different approach this year of showcasing in color Canterbury's present-day historical, scenic, and cultural gems.

This is where we need your help. Please contact us if you have stunning high-resolution color photos of Canterbury's vistas, stone walls, rivers and streams, trees and more, taken in every season and every weather (sun, fog, rain, and snow), that we might consider using in the calendar. Because we're starting this project now and need to finish by September, we are particularly in need of fall foliage and winter snow scenes.

People or animals or a house or barn in a photo don't disqualify it from consideration! We actually hope to have some such "life style" images--folks canoeing on the river, a distant image of a family sliding a freshly cut Christmas tree home over the snow, winter skaters, summer picnickers with their kids and dogs, summer bonfires, etc.

Please share. If we use a photo of yours, you will of course be gratefully acknowledged in the calendar. All proceeds directly support the programs and projects of the Canterbury Historical Society.

Please call Ellen at 860-546-9346. Thank you.
