A Musical History of the Ovation Guitar

April 12 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

It is more than fair to say that the Ovation guitar, built in both Moosup and New Hartford Connecticut, played a significant role in the singer/songwriter explosion of the late 60’s and early 70’s music scene. Advancements in live-sound systems at that time required an instrument that was yet to be produced but when the Ovation Guitar Company stepped up to fill that void, the new Connecticut-made guitar propelled the singer/songwriter to the forefront of the music scene.

During this presentation, musician Jim Lenn will explore not only the history of the guitar, but the role the Ovation guitar played during this period. Jim will also present some of the music that was performed during the late 60s and early 70s on his own Ovation Guitar.

Join us in the Canterbury Town Hall Community Room, 1 Municipal Drive, for this historical musical program following a short monthly business meeting at 7 PM. Free and open to the public – bring a friend!
